Response to Val on Purgatory

Blessed Souls in Purgatory benefiting the prayers from the Triumphant Church and the Militant Church

This post is in response to the comment of Val about purgatory (http://thebeautyandmysteryoflifeandfaith.blogspot.com.au/2012/08/short-stories-of-purgatory-remarkable.html).

Val's comments are in RED whilst mine are in BLUE

Thank you for your comment Val, I appreciate your comment and the time that you spent sending your message through this comment board. But let me answer your comment piece by piece and one by one.

Val: Satan has deceived the whole world into believing in a god of hate and revenge (Satan).

Me: That is why purgatory is given by God as His sign of justice, grace, mercy and love to all His children.

Val: God is precise: It is a woman Rev 12 that delivers the true word John1:1, Rev 12:5, Rev 12:13 who restores Acts 3:21 all things to prepare a people.

Me: What is the problem with this? Nothing. I agree.

Val:  Not one child of God will be put in a hell fire no matter what their sins

Me: It would seem that val here is the one that is deceived by Satan by trying to believe that NOBODY will ever go to hell. What about this val 1 John 5: 16-17? John spoke of sins that can lead to death (he meant eternal damnation) and sin that does not lead to death. For you to understand purgatory, you should understand first this very passage that speaks about the gradation of sin or we call it the degrees of sin. In layman's term venial and mortal sin. Furthermore, there are those souls who choose NOT God but Satan, they willfully neglected God in their lives, do you think they will still go to HEAVEN? Think val...think...

Val:No one will go to a purgatory.

Me: At least according to you val. Do not LIMIT God with your meager knowledge of his grace and mercy. If you really believe in the Bible as God's word then you should have understood it by now that Purgatory is God's way of showing His mercy and love to His children. It is not an act of hate or revenge from God whereby His children are punished. This is quite the contrary because souls who are in Purgatory are already saved, they just need cleansing as nothing impure shall enter heaven (cf. Rev. 21:27). Furthermore, Jesus Himself said of it while He was preaching that nobody can get out of it until one has paid the last penny (cf. Matthew 5:26). As it was said, Jesus did not come to break/abolish the law, but to fulfill it. One of the early beliefs of the Jews was praying for the dead. “It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins” (2 Maccabees 12:46, Douay-Rheims Bible). See? early Jews have done this and never ever did Jesus try to preach the falsehood of this belief. If you would contest that in the bible, there is no purgatory, then, show me a chapter and verse whereby Jesus said there is no such thing as purgatory verbatim. Besides, the word purgatory is derived from the latin word "purgatorium" so whenever you search for it in you English bible, you would never ever encounter such a word. Purgatory is for purgation of sins see Hebrew 1:3 - Who being the brightness of his glory, and the figure of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, making PURGATION OF SINS, sitteth on the right hand of the majesty on high.

In latin: Hebrew 1:3 qui cum sit splendor gloriæ, et figura substantiæ eius, portansque omnia verbo virtutis suæ, PURGATIONEM PECCATORUM faciens, sedet ad dexteram maiestatis in excelsis:

Val:  It never entered the heart or mind of God to ever do such a thing Jer 7:31, Jer 19:5 and this is proven by the word to the whole world as a witness at http://thegoodtale.blogspot.com

Me: In Jer 7:31 and Jer. 19:5 you were referring to the burning of the sons and daughters of the Israelites as their offering to the idol/false god BAAL. Of course God did not ever wish such a foolish thing to be done to the sons and daughters of Israel. It was the folly of the Israelites that lead them to do such a thing. It was their faith to the false god Baal that made them do that. In those verses that you gave, I'm 100% sure Jeremiah, the wise prophet, did not mean purgatory in there. You are taking the context of the text in a very wrong way my friend. This is the problem when one privately interprets the bible and would quote it just to fit his/her own standard and understanding. That is deadly and dangerous. WARNING: PRIVATE INTERPRETATION OF THE BIBLE IS HAZARDOUS TO YOUR SOUL.

Val: Be a workman; gather all evidence before making a judgment.

Me: This back fires to you my friend val. You should study first the faith of the Catholic Christians before you make a judgment. In your comment, it is obvious that you lack the knowledge thereof, hence making a false and erroneous understanding of purgatory.

  1. We can also see this cleansing through fire in St. Paul's teaching:

If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames. (1 Cor. 3:15)

It is unfortunate that this protestant limits God's mercy. Also, itis unfortunate that he has such poor concept of how sin negates the very idea of God & therefore heaven that even a single sin is incompatible before God in heaven. Purgatory is really just God's love perfecting us after we depart from heaven because as is indicated above, no impure can enter heaven.

  2. True indeed Bro. Gregor, purgatory is God's way of perfecting, cleansing and purifying us from all our sins. Such a shame, with little knowledge, our non-catholic brothers and sisters tend to attack us senselessly without even studying and understanding the faith. Indeed, little knowledge is dangerous.

  3. Think on this…
No one can come to God unless he draws them to him John 6:44. God has all power. Sin doesn’t scare God; he created it Isa 45:7 to teach his children the knowledge of good and evil Gen 3:22 for their eternal placement Ezek 37:26 in his coming kingdom Rev 21. God created all of us to hate him Rom 8:7 to learn that knowledge.

No one goes to purgatory when they die. Satan has deceived the whole world until a woman delivers the true word to the world Rev 12:5, it is done at http://thegoodtale.blogspot.com . Christ’s blood sacrifice purges everyone’s sins 1 John 2:2 each in their own order 1 Cor 15:23. God has ALL power over his creation. No one goes to hell when they die; no one goes to heaven when they die. Heaven is the New Jerusalem, the 1500 square mile city of God that comes down from heaven onto the New Earth in God’s coming world Rev 21. No one given the opportunity to know all the mysteries of God now at the heel of time Gen 3:15 will enter that city unless they hear ME! This is a fact Acts 3:23.

The woman of Rev 12 is now here. She is not a church, she is not Israel, and she is not Mary. She is the prophet like unto Moses and Elijah Matt 17:3, Acts 3:21-23, Luke 1:17 delivering the true word John 1:1 from the wilderness Rev 12:6 to prepare a people for the Lord’s return. God our Father will not put any child of his into a hell fire no matter what their sins. It never entered the heart or mind of God to ever do such a thing Jer7:31, Jer 19:5. Turn your heart to the children of God. A gift is now delivered to the whole world as a witness Matt 24:14 prove all things.

  4. It would seem that Val is out of touch as far as reality is concerned. You keep on yapping on things that are far from what is being discussed in this topic. You keep on mentioning about Revelation 12 where in fact it has nothing to do with our discussion on purgatory. You can't even support your claim that purgatory does not exist. I have answered you line by line and piece by piece i.e. your previous post. Therefore, it is your responsibility to rebut and challenge my comments by providing sensible evidences that the existence of purgatory is NIL. All you have given are compacted verses from the bible without pointing out what you really wanted to say. You have been given all the evidences of the existence of purgatory yet you chose to evade the truth by providing these verse from the bible which has nothing to do with our discussion..I suggest that you get real val. Ask God for guidance in order for you to understand better the Word of God in the Bible. Again, I would caution you THAT PRIVATE INTERPRETATION OF THE SCRIPTURE IS HAZARDOUS TO YOUR SOUL!
